Arjun Ravi

Arjun holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the United States and recently completed a Master’s Degree in International Development and Environmental Analysis at Monash University. The subject of his Master’s thesis was on the Ethical Considerations of the Commercialization of the Microfinance Industry in India. Additionally, his studies have included Environmental Governance and Citizenship, Environmental Impact Analysis and Corporate Sustainability Management.

In between studies, Arjun has had professional work experience across various industries. He commenced his career in the management consulting sector with Huron Consulting Group in the US specializing in operations mapping and optimization and financial/accounting compliance. Some of his clients included Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Medical School. Following this, he also spent a year working in South China / Hong Kong’s supply chain industry where he gained experience in the design aspects and on the ground implementation of end-to-end logistical solutions for major international retailers.

Arjun’s interest in the sustainability sector stems from research during completion of his Masters course, exposure to numerous business models and their impact on social, economic and environmental conditions in various countries and finally through tutoring the undergraduate unit “Sustainable Development in a Globalized World” at Monash University. At Net Balance Arjun hopes to put his academic understanding of sustainability issues into practice and utilize his prior professional experiences in sustainability advisory work.

Having lived in numerous countries before landing in Melbourne, Arjun’s passion is travelling and discovering new cultures and languages. He is also an avid follower of sports, especially basketball and loves to constantly uncover new music.
