Christophe has over 15 years work experience, including 10 years in finance and 5 years specialising in natural resources economics and sustainable development. He holds an MBA from ESSEC in Paris and a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne.

After starting a career in finance (financial auditing and risk management), Christophe decided to give a new direction to his work life and specifically focus on environmental and natural resources issues. From his previous career he retains financial and economic skills, a good understanding of the corporate world and strong project management capabilities. In his new career, Christophe has been working on integrating sustainability and rigorous economics into decision-making using Benefit Cost Analysis, Triple Bottom Line analysis and other evaluation tools, primarily in relation to natural resources (particularly urban and rural water). Christophe has also used tools such as non-market valuation in order to estimate the value of environmental benefits or services that cannot be quantified by reference to a market price. Examples of such studies include the willingness to pay for recycling electronic waste, carried out on behalf of the Commonwealth Government in support of its waste policy.

In addition to economics projects, Christophe has pursued his strong interest in sustainability by working on a range of renewable energy projects and has developed specialist expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), managing, for example, a range of LCAs for the delivery of electronic and communication services. Christophe assisted Sensis in obtaining the “Greenhouse Friendly” certification for its directory services. Christophe has worked for Government and corporate clients and he finds that the most stimulating component of his work as an advisor is to work with clients to create tailored solutions, which address their specific concerns.

Christophe has been living in Australia for over seven years and now has Australian citizenship but travels back regularly to his native France where he still has family and friends. During his leisure time, he enjoys swimming, gardening and going to the cinema and theatre.
