Kirsten Simpson

Kirsten has over a decade of professional experience managing and implementing sustainability assurance and advisory projects across both government and corporate sectors.

Kirsten holds an honours degree in Earth Sciences from Monash University and a Masters of Environment from Melbourne University. She is one of only eight professionals globally to be awarded the grade of Lead Sustainability Assurance Practitioner (Lead CSAP) by AccountAbility for signing off sustainability reports to the AA1000 Assurance Standard.

Kirsten currently sits on the Global Reporting Initiative's G4 Technical Editing Task Force. She is also a sitting member on the Victorian Environment and Communities Working Group with the Minerals Council of Australia.

Kirsten currently leads the Net Balance Assurance Practice. Net Balance undertakes the highest number of assurance engagements in the Australian market.

During her time with Net Balance, she worked with clients in the mining, manufacturing, transport, electricity, water, investment banking and government sectors. Her core capabilities include the provision of sustainability assurance, sustainability strategy, sustainability reporting, environmental due diligence, policy development and stakeholder engagement.
