Rebecca Cain

Rebecca Cain has ten years of experience in the environmental sustainability field across government, consulting and the not-for-profit sector. Following the completion of a Bachelor of Arts/Commerce degree at Deakin University in 2001, where she majored in public policy and marketing, Rebecca worked at Sustainability Victoria for six years in various program management, marketing, communications and policy roles across energy and resource use. Whilst working at Hyder Consulting, Rebecca specialised in waste, recycling and resource efficiency.

She worked with federal, state and local government agencies, waste management authorities, industry associations and private organisations on projects involving policy and strategy, market research, stakeholder engagement, life cycle assessment, environmental reporting, funding and grants applications, data management and analysis, and communications.

Rebecca is currently undertaking a Master of International and Community Development at Deakin University with a focus on corporate citizenship and integrating environmental and social sustainability. Rebecca recently returned from volunteering in India for three months where she gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by developing countries in balancing social and environmental development.
