Taimur Siddiqi

Taimur holds a Bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology from La Trobe University and a Master’s degree in Environment from the University of Melbourne. His studies focused on climate policy, environmental risk & management, and sustainable development.

During his studies, Taimur completed an internship with The Wilderness Society in Victoria. He also completed an internship in Ghana with Opportunities Industrialization Centers International (OICI), an International Development NGO based out of the US. The internship with OICI provided Taimur with a firsthand look at the challenges involved in achieving food security and sustainable livelihoods in West Africa. Taimur is also involved in convening and speaking at annual Round Square conferences on environmental topics in Bangladesh.

Taimur has worked in the sustainability consulting space with clients from the retail, food, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and IT industries. Through this work, he has gained experience in managing and delivering sustainability strategy and environmental compliance projects. Most recently, Taimur worked on project management in the water research investment sector and acquired knowledge of the water industry, contract management and stakeholder engagement. At Net Balance, Taimur hopes to translate his knowledge of environmental and development issues and his passion for preserving the natural world into helping business achieve sustainable outcomes.

Taimur currently sits on the Board of Advisors for Climate Alliance, a not for profit organisation that seeks to help business leaders become better informed about the opportunities and risks of climate change. As part of this role, he also acts as the Secretary to the Board and writes articles for the company website.

In his spare time, Taimur enjoys reading, playing his guitar and being consistently disappointed by his favourite sporting teams. On the weekends, he can be found with his Rhodesian Ridgeback in the park or going for long walks on the beach listening to power ballads.
