Kirsten has eleven years professional experience managing and implementing environmental impact, risk assessment and sustainability projects across the mining, industrial and corporate sectors. She holds an honours degree in Earth Sciences from Monash University and a Masters of Environment from Melbourne University.
In recent years, Kirsten has undertaken a number of sustainability projects within the mining sector that have focused on resource recycling and reuse, water conservation, rehabilitation & mine closure planning, stakeholder engagement and corporate reporting. She has actively participated in Environment Review Committees and she is also a member of the Environment and Communities Working Group with the Minerals Council of Australia.
Kirsten is Net Balance's Victorian State Manager and leads the Net Balance Assurance business line. During Kirsten's time with Net Balance she has worked with clients in the mining, manufacturing, transport, electricity, water, investment banking and government sectors. Her core capabilities include the provision of sustainability assurance and advisory services, environmental due diligence, policy development and stakeholder engagement.
Kirsten also currently lectures with Swinburne’s National Centre for Sustainability in the area of Carbon Accounting and at RMIT in the area of Resource Efficiency. Kirsten is an avid traveller and award-winning photographer.
