Liam has over 15 years experience in sustainable development, in the UK and Australia. He has recently been developing the policy framework for climate change adaptation with the Victorian government Department of Sustainability and Environment, to guide whole-of-government strategy and decision-making.

Prior to this Liam completed an interdisciplinary Masters in Environment at University of Melbourne. His thesis was on managing risk and uncertainty in climate change policy-making, which developed themes around resilience and adaptive management. He remains a part-time research fellow at the University, working on risk, resilience and adaptation.

In the UK Liam was a director of a consultancy developing local food economies for a range of clients in the public and private sectors. He also worked on sustainable agriculture and local food at the Soil Association, the world peak organic body, supporting some of the first farmers markets and local food programs in the UK.

He previously worked on sustainable agriculture policy and sustainability reporting in the Department of Primary Industries, Victoria.

Liam’s key attribute as a frustrated drummer only occasionally breaks forth at work.  He vehemently denies that his hero and spiritual mentor is Animal from the Muppet Show…
