Before joining Net Balance in 2008, Nadine worked with the United Nations Environment Programme’s Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) in Geneva, Switzerland, administering their Environmental and Social Risk Analysis Program. Nadine also assisted the UNEP FI Insurance and Biodiversity Working Group in coordinating international stakeholder engagement programs, outreach communications and preparing supporting publications.

Nadine holds a Bachelor of International Relations from Bond University, Queensland, and studied economics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, she successfully completed a UN e-learning programme on Climate Change and Microfinance. Having grown up around the globe, Nadine speaks seven languages, five of these fluently. In between studying and working, she has engaged in diverse volunteer work in various countries, including a self-sustaining farm and orphanage in Peru, a public primary school in China, a sail training ship and a wildlife preservation centre in Vietnam.

Since joining Net Balance, Nadine has worked with clients across a range of industries, including financial, legal, construction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, beverage, food and government sectors. Also, she has been heavily involved in a product road mapping Australian benchmark project, commissioned by the St James Ethic Centre, focusing on business responsibility in small to medium enterprises. Further experience include life cycle analysis, greenhouse gas inventories, GRI assessments, assurance of CSR reports, stakeholder engagement and environment strategies and international peer reviews. Her bubbly and social character also scored her the role of event coordinator for the Net Balance Sydney office – a role which has lead to Net Balance’s popular quarterly Sustain-A-Bytes event.

When not at work, Nadine likes to engage in either two of her only passions which compete with sustainability: Sailing and dancing – each separately, generally. Aiming to participate in the Sydney-to-Hobart race this summer, she often goes straight to the harbour after work. On the weekends, salsa, samba and tango moves get her as close to Nirvana as it gets. The saying that gets her out of bed every morning: Give every day the chance to be the most beautiful of your life!
