Neil joined Net Balance in 2010 and has over 14 years of professional experience in environmental management, risk assessment, climate change and sustainability. He holds degrees in Science from the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and an MBA (Technology Management) from La Trobe University. He is an EIANZ Certified Environmental Practitioner, a Technical Assessor for the National Association Testing Authority (NATA), previously Lead Auditor with both the NSW and Victorian audit schemes and an Associate Fellow with the Australian Institute of Management.
Neil has undertaken projects across the industrial and corporate sectors in all states of Australia and in Asia including Singapore, Brunei, India, Philippines, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and South Korea. Neil has extensive experience in air quality management, meteorological assessments, resource efficiency auditing and management, pollution control and alternative technology reviews, emission inventory development, life cycle analysis, climate change adaption and mitigation and in undertaking quantitative risk assessments.
Neil is a committee member of the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) Training Activities Executive and a member of the Energy Institute of Australia. He is also on the board of Uniting Care Moreland Hall, an alcohol and other drug treatment and education agency which has been operating in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne since 1970, and a member of their audit risk committee. Prior to joining Net Balance, Neil held senior positions at ENVIRON Australia Pty Ltd and ERM Pty Ltd. Neil is married to Karen and has two little girls Hannah and Leah. Neil has a wide range of interests away from work including golf, squash, reading and collecting boutique Australian Red wines. Few would know that Neil used to play the drums for a number of bands (country, jazz and pop), did a brief stint at wedding photography or that he represented Junior India in field hockey at the age of 16. |
