Energy efficiency is well recognised as a way to address climate change and peak demand issues. However, with rising energy costs, it is also being seen as a way for businesses to reduce operating costs significantly. Net Balance works with clients to unlock energy efficiency opportunities, with a focus on delivering practical, innovative and financially prudent solutions. 

Net Balance’s team is uniquely qualified to provide a range of technical and professional energy services including the development of energy efficiency strategies; energy efficiency audits of industrial, manufacturing or commercial facilities in accordance with AS/NZS 3598; economic analysis of prioritised options; NABERS and Green Star assessments; feasibility analysis of identified options (technical and financial); Lean Six Sigma reviews and process efficiency and optimisation assessment. We have extensive experience in undertaking multi-site energy efficiency audits and a proven track record in helping clients to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their business processes.

The Energy Efficiency Opportunities Act

Net Balance has experience working with some of Australia’s leading companies to achieve compliance with the Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) Act. Our services cover all elements of the legislation, including:

• developing Assessment Plans (formerly Assessment and Reporting Schedules)
• compiling Representative Assessments, including statistical analysis and reporting
• undertaking energy assessments in line with EEO requirements
• Government Reporting
• Public Reporting.

Other Government energy efficiency programs

We also have experience assisting clients in navigating a range of other government programs, including:

• the NSW Energy Saver Scheme (ESS), allowing participants to generate  and trade Energy Saver Certificates (ESCs) for implementing energy efficiency measures
• NSW Energy Savings Action Plans (ESAPs), requiring sites that use more than 10GWh of energy per year to undertake an energy audit and prepare an action plan
• the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET), allowing participants to generate and trade Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) for implementing energy efficient technologies
• Victorian Environment and Resource Efficiency Plans (EREP), requiring sites that use more than 100TJ of energy per year to undertake an energy audit and prepare an action plan
• Energy Efficiency Information Grants and other government funding programs, where Net Balance can assist in conceiving innovative projects and drafting quality funding applications.

The NSW Energy Saver Program

Net Balance is also a registered auditor under the NSW Energy Saver Program. This program offers generous subsidies of up to 80% on energy audits for sites in NSW that use between 160MWh and 10GWh of electricity per year. If you wish to access these subsidies, please contact charlie@netbalance.com.
